I will miss this place. It will be 5 months before I return. For most of that time Theros will be on the Hard at Shelter Island in Vancouver and I will be in London England or walking the Coast to Coast trail in support of Live Kidney donor transplant. I am looking forward to this next, very important part of my life and also the return to one of the most beautiful places on this planet. I have made some good friends here and will miss them. I'll miss the great music always present at the TreeHouse restaurant every evening and the Saturday Markets full of great Organic foods. I'll miss TJ Beans for their great coffee and amazing community support. I'll miss the people who I work with each day at BC Ferries and can only say Thank You for all your support in my quest. Most of all though, I will miss my Son and his family. He is my star in the night sky and Charlie fills my heart with joy. She is walking now and will be running by the time I get back. Hope she doesn't forget her old grandpa.
I will be picking up the first of three new sails being made for my by UK Sails of Sidney BC, tomorrow. A new 140 Genoa. I am looking forward to putting it up and sailing with her. Over the next few months while I'm away, the good people at UK Sails will be putting together the last two sails and when I return they will be installing the strong track and lazy cradle systems on Theros and we will be one more step closer to heading out on a wee sail around the world. Due to the transplant it may take me a tad longer to get going but will see how work goes over next winter.
For now the time is too focus on what lies ahead for the next few months. I will learn the use of Final Cut Pro to edit the documentary I will be making for the Discovery Channel UK and try to make a video that will show how little my life will change in the grand scheme of things as my body transitions to having one Kidney instead of Two. During this period my posts will be mainly on this topic and so I hope I don't bore you too much. Must up and away now as the day is flying past and I have much to do before work this afternoon.
