Well a productive day today. I took a ten foot by 2X8 rough Ash plank and made it into a whole bunch of small pieces. Tomorrow I will install those small pieces as trim and support for the new Salon Table. I will upload pictures on the conversion page after things start coming together tomorrow. The trim to be added is for two purposes. First it will act as a cushion stop to keep the Salon cushions in place. It will also act as a support trim so that when the table is in the lowered position it will be stable and capable of supporting the weight of two people who might end up sleeping there. Of course the trim will also give the finished look to the bench seats that I built last year and allow me to get one step closer to having a comfortable living space.
I have set a workshop up at my sons place 8 kilometres away and today saw three round trips out and back as I cut and fitted and of course, recut a few pieces. I would be nice if he was handier but I will just have to learn to measure right the first time. I did have the luxury of using their laundry while I was there so I can go to the gym tonight without offending the people around me. I will be nice to sleep on fresh sheets as well.
Until tomorrow, hope all is well out there. Good winds and sun for all.
